New Patient FAQs
What should I expect for a consultation appointment?
A consultation is a comprehensive two-way conversation. We’d like you to share what your previous dental experiences have been like, your concerns, and your goals for your smile. Our genuine and friendly staff want you to feel comfortable and relaxed in our judgement-free zone. After your interactive exam (you’ll get to see digital X-rays &/or 3D scans and intraoral photos of your teeth), we’ll explain our professional recommendations, all the other treatment options, and explain payment alternatives. We will support you in making the best choice for you, your family, and your smile.
I’m interested in becoming a patient. Can I come in for a tour of your office?
Absolutely! Choosing the right dentist for your family is an important decision. We believe you have found the perfect place for your family’s dental care. We are excited to welcome you to Belpre Dental Studio for a tour of our office – no obligations. Please call to schedule. We do reserve time so that we may give all patients an exceptional experience each visit.
Do I need to arrive early for my 1st appointment?
When you schedule your first appointment, we will send you the new patient forms to fill out through our secure dental software. If you are unable to complete the forms prior to your appointment, please arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out the medical/dental questionnaire on one of our iPads.
What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
Please bring the following items with you to your appointment:
- Identification such as a Driver’s License, Military ID, or State ID
- Dental Insurance Card (if applicable)
- List of all medications that you are current taking
- List of any medical conditions (be able to answer a medical history questionnaire)
How long will my first appointment last?
It varies, but please plan on 1-1.5 hours for your first visit.
Will I get a cleaning at my first appointment?
Most new patients receive a dental cleaning at their first visit, unless there is another dental concern that requires immediate attention first.
What should I do if I require premedication?
If you require premedication, please let our office know prior to your visit. If you currently have a prescription from your physician, please take it as directed before your appointment. If you require a prescription from our office, Dr. Huffman can discuss this with you at your first visit. Please feel free to call us with any questions.
